COLUMBIA — Three Missouri volleyball players received regional honors from the American Volleyball Coaches Association. Senior hitter Paola Ampudia made the All-Central Region first team. Freshman setter Molly Kreklow was named Central Region Freshman of the Year and made the honorable mention team. Senior libero Caitlyn Vann also made the All-Central Region honorable mention.

This is the first time Ampudia has received this honor in her career. She leads the team in kills with 472 and has 526 total points this season. She will be considered for All-American honors.

Kreklow is ranked second in the Big 12 Conference in assists per set and is the first member of the Mizzou volleyball team to earn Central Region Freshman of the Year since 2002.  Kreklow was named Newcomer of the Week five times this season and will be considered for National Freshman of the Year.

Vann leads the Big 12 in digs per set and has set two school records with her 621 digs and 5.40 digs per set average. She was named Big 12 Defensive Player of the Week six times this season.

Mizzou is playing in the Sweet 16 of the NCAA tournament against 12th-seeded Duke at 4 p.m. Saturday at Penn State.
