Denmon to play in Missouri men's basketball game after family tragedy

COLUMBIA — Missouri men's basketball player Marcus Denmon will play Wednesday against Vanderbilt a day after the death of his cousin, Marion Denmon of Kansas City, according to MU team spokesman Dave Reiter.

Marion Denmon died Tuesday afternoon at Truman Medical Center in Kansas City after being shot early Friday morning. According to a report from the Kansas City Star, Marion Denmon was a passenger in a car that was between two cars that were trading gunfire. Denmon was struck by a bullet and taken to Truman Medical Center where he remained until his death Tuesday.
