COLUMBIA – Jenna Marston, a shortstop on the Missouri softball team, has been named USA Baseball’s Sportswoman of the Year.
This past summer, Marston played on the USA Baseball Women’s National Team, which placed third in the IBAF Women's World Cup. In the tournament, she played right field, shortstop and pitcher.
She lead the tournament with 16 hits and eight doubles and her .593 batting average was the highest on the team. Out of the 11 innings she pitched, she struck out six batters.
Last year as a freshman, Marston helped guide the Tigers to their second straight Women’s College World Series appearance by hitting .366 with five home runs and 52 runs batted in, the most on the team.
