COLUMBIA — The Rock Bridge basketball team extended its winning streak to four games with a 60-50 win Thursday at rival Hickman.

The Kewpies (1-5) held an 18-13 lead in the first quarter but the Bruins (5-1) recovered quickly and took a 36-25 advantage into halftime.

Senior forward Karon Hayes and sophomore guard Manuale Watkins led the way for Rock Bridge, scoring 14 points each despite the Bruins’ season-low 60-point output as a team.

Hickman senior Marcus Whitt had a game-high 15 for the Kewpies, who lost their fifth straight.

Rock Bridge plays Blue Valley West Saturday in the HyVee Shootout at Avila University in Kansas City, while the Kewpies return to action on Dec. 27 as part of the William Jewell Tournament in Liberty.
