LETTER: Jefferson City Cantorum provides stellar Christmas concert

Tuesday, December 21, 2010 | 1:41 p.m. CST

Old man winter's first blast into mid-Missouri was no match for the Jefferson City Cantorum's production of "We Remember December." In fact, the whistling of the wind could not be heard inside the Miller Center, where stellar performances of vocal and instrumental acrobatics prevailed.

The holiday musical fare was as wide as the ear could hear. With special arrangements of "Glory to God" and "Nutcracker Jungles" they had me. But when the classical "Deck the Halls" echoed off the walls, I was simply and utterly blown away.

And away I went, up-charged up for the holidays. Jesus is the reason for the season, but the Jefferson City Cantorum always sets the mood for me.

John Wieneman lives in Jefferson City.
