COLUMBIA – William McCaskill, brother of U.S. Sen. Claire McCaskill, is set to appear for a preliminary hearing at the Boone County Circuit Court on Wednesday afternoon for felony drug possession.

McCaskill, 48, was charged with drug possession on Aug. 31, and a warrant was issued for his arrest. He was arrested in October in Holts Summit, his hometown. He was taken to Callaway County Jail and released a few hours later after posting a $4,500 bond, a previous Missourian article stated.

According to court documents from the Boone County Circuit Court, Columbia police found McCaskill on Jan. 5 lying unconscious at 1019 E. Broadway, near Generic, the nightclub he co-owns. He was unresponsive at first and appeared highly intoxicated and disoriented, according to the documents.

He was taken to University Hospital to be examined and treated. He had a cut above his eye and a large bruise, according to the documents.

At the hospital, police found a folded-up piece of paper containing a powdery white substance. A field test indicated that the powder was cocaine, according to the probable cause statement in the court documents.

Wonder if the cops have a search problem. If the envelope was in a pants pocket - why were the cops looking there?

I think Clair has been using his stash! That would explain alot of the stuff she does. Yep, she's jacked his stash and headed back to Washington to party with her homies.

Dan, you have got to stop that. You're starting to make this place look like the Trib.

Hmmmmm...perhaps the fact that he was lying on the ground unconscious might have something to do with it. I think it would be extremely difficult to make and illegal search and seizure case here. Mr. McCaskill provided plenty of cause for the search.

Ah Will, I told him during our last encounter that karma would come back and bite him after he tried to do me dirty and get over on me. Key word is tried. In doing so he lost a large portion of his customers.
