The Hickman girls basketball team defeated Owensville 47-33 on Thursday to win its pool at the Rolla tournament. The Kewpies (9-3) advance to play in the 6 p.m. Saturday championship game.

Aqua Corpening led Hickman with 19 points. Jade Holly had 10 points and Claire Ortbals scored 8.

Kewpies coach Tonya Mirts said Andrea Drake played a crucial role in the game with some key rebounds in the fourth quarter after Owensville had pulled within four points of the Kewpies.

"It wasn't how many she had," said Mirts of Drake, who finished with seven rebounds, "but when they came that was so important."
