Thursday, January 6, 2011 | 9:27 p.m. CST
Missouri men's basketball player Marcus Denmon has been named to the Wooden Award Midseason Top-30 list.
The midseason list includes the early frontrunners for college basketball's most prestigious honor.
Denmon, a junior guard, is averaging 17.2 points and four rebounds for the 14-1 Tigers. He is shooting 50 percent from 3-point range and ranks among the national leaders with an 87-percent free-throw shooting efficiency. He scored a career-high 27 points vs. Georgetown this season.
Players on the top-30 list will be considered for the official voting ballot released in March. The 35th annual Wooden Award ceremony, which will include the announcement of the Men's and Women's Wooden Award winners, will take place the weekend of April 8.
