COLUMBIA — Derrick Washington's trial has been pushed back to Feb. 7.
Derrick Washington's attorney, Christopher Slusher of Holder, Susan and Slusher, appeared at the 13th Circuit Court for Boone County on Monday requesting a continuance in Washington's deviate sexual assault case.
Washington was ordered to appear in court Monday but was excused due to inclement weather. He is living in Kansas City.
In court documents, the woman, who is in her early 20s, alleges Washington sexually assaulted her June 19 at the Campus View apartment complex, according to previous Missourian reporting.
Washington faces a Class C felony charge with a maximum penalty of seven years in prison. He is also set for trial on Feb. 16 on charges of third degree domestic assault.
