Armed robber still at large

COLUMBIA — The man who committed an armed robbery at Parkade Plaza on Monday night was still at large Tuesday afternoon, according to a news release issued by the Columbia Police Department.

A 52-year-old woman reported that she was walking to her car when the man approached her from behind, put a gun to her head and yelled for her to "'get down and stay down!'" the release stated.

The man entered the woman's car, took several items and ran from the scene, according to the release.

Police offered a very general description of the man.

Columbia police spokesperson Jill Wieneke said his bulky clothes and ski mask made a better description impossible.

The woman was not injured during the robbery, the release stated.
