COLUMBIA — Columbia residents already entombed in their houses and driveways by snow should expect more snow this weekend.

Although a weak storm system is expected Friday night, the snowfall should finish by midnight Saturday, resulting in up to an inch of snow, said Thomas Spriggs of the National Weather Service.

He said that 2 to 4 more inches of snow should fall during the day Sunday.

Temperatures for next week are expected to be well below freezing, which means there will be little chance that the snow will melt from Monday to Wednesday other than by direct sunlight, Spriggs said.
