Missouri wrestling loses to Oklahoma, Oklahoma State

COLUMBIA — The Missouri wrestling team lost both of its matches over the weekend against No. 10 Oklahoma and No. 5 Oklahoma State.

The Tigers (14-8) lost 18-12 to the Sooners on Saturday in Norman, Okla. and 28-6 against the Cowboys on Friday in Stillwater, Okla.

Against Oklahoma, half of the 10 matches featured two wrestlers in the top 25. Missouri went 1-4 in those elite matchups.

Junior Dom Bradley (22-3) was the lone Missouri winner over a ranked Oklahoma wrestler. Bradley is ranked No. 3 in the heavyweight division and beat No. 11 Nathan Fernandez 4-2. Bradley scored a takedown 25 seconds into the match and won his 14th consecutive match.

Tigers sophomore Nathan McCormick (18-13) had Missouri's largest upset of the match, beating No. 17 Jordan Keller in the 133-pound division by a 3-2 decision in the second tiebreaker.

Friday, Missouri lost eight of 10 matches to No. 5 Oklahoma State. The Cowboys were propelled by No. 1 Jordan Oliver in the 133-pound division and No. 2 Clayton Foster in the 197-pound division, who both won by major decision.

For the Tigers, Bradley won 6-3 in the heavyweight division and redshirt freshman Zach Toal won 3-2 in the 165-pound division.

The Tigers will finish the regular season against Iowa State at 1 p.m. on Feb. 13 at Hearnes Center.
