ST. CHARLES — The trial of a Hannibal murder suspect has been rescheduled for April.

The Hannibal Courier-Post reported that St. Charles County Judge Nancy Schneider set the new trial date of April 12 to April 15 after consulting with public defender Todd Schulze and special prosecutor Kevin Zoellner.

Thirty-four-year-old Manuel G. Cazares is charged with two counts of second-degree murder and armed criminal action in the stabbing deaths of his former girlfriend, 27-year-old Amanda R. Thomas, and 25-year-old C. Patrick Epley. They were found dead Feb. 28, 2009, at her Hannibal home.

The case was moved to St. Charles County because of publicity in Marion County.
