Hickman girls basketball narrowly wins at Jefferson City

The Hickman girls basketball team snagged a 47-46 road victory Tuesday night at Jefferson City.
The Kewpies (15-6) opened the fourth quarter with a 10-point lead and managed to hold on after leading scorer Aqua Corpening, 19 points, fouled out with seven minutes left in the game.
In the end, Jefferson City hit a 3-pointer with 6.3 seconds left in the game to make it 45-43. Hickman guard Jade Holly was then fouled and hit both free throws to extend the Hickman lead to 47-43. Jefferson City hit a 3-pointer as time expired.
Hickman is set to play next at 2 p.m. Saturday at Ozark, near Springfield, Mo.
