COLUMBIA — Two vehicles were involved in an accident Wednesday on Stadium Boulevard near Hollywood Theaters.

Leonard Robinson of Waynesville had parked his gray Saturn Aura on the side of the road to clean off his windshield wipers when the driver of a blue Pontiac Montana struck the rear of Robinson’s vehicle, Columbia Police Officer Lindsey Mueller said.

“I looked up and the car wasn’t slowing down, so I just started running,” Robinson said.

The driver's side rear fender of Robinson’s vehicle was scattered across the side of the road. The car came to rest in a snow bank about 5 feet away.

The driver of the Pontiac, whose name was not made available, was taken to University Hospital by ambulance, Mueller said.
