ST. LOUIS — The St. Louis County prosecuting attorney's office isn't saying when it will wrap up its investigation into the death of the girlfriend of August Busch IV.
On Wednesday, St. Louis County Medical Examiner Mary Case announced that 27-year-old Adrienne Martin died of an accidental overdose of the painkiller oxycodone.
It wasn't immediately clear if the finding could result in criminal charges. Don Schneider, a spokesman for prosecutor Bob McCulloch, would say only that an investigation is ongoing.
Martin was found dead on the morning of Dec. 19 at Busch's estate in southwest St. Louis County.
Forensics administrator Suzanne McCune said the full report from Martin's toxicology exam won't be released until the prosecutor's investigation is complete. She would not say if any other drugs were found in Martin's system.
