COLUMBIA — Todd Schavrien walked off the mat at Hearnes Center for the last time as a winner.
Schavrien, ranked No. 12 in the 141-pound weight class, defeated No. 15 Chris Drouin 3-1 in his last home wrestling match Sunday afternoon. The win put the finishing touches on No. 13 Missouri’s 23-11 victory against No. 17 Iowa State.
Up 6-3 after the first three matches, the Tigers fell behind 8-6 after top-ranked 174-pounder Jon Reader defeated No. 20 Dorian Henderson by a technical fall.
The Tigers would fall behind 11-9 before things turned around.
Heavyweight Dom Bradley won his match to start a run of four straight wins for the Tigers, including major decisions from Alan Waters and Nathan McCormick.
The win marked the first official Big 12 victory for Missouri this season, though they did defeat Oklahoma State in a tournament earlier this year.
The Tigers' next competition is the Big 12 Tournament on Saturday, March 5, in Ames, Iowa.
