The Hickman girls basketball team scored 20 points in the third quarter to pull away for a 69-43 victory Saturday at California, Mo.
After leading 26-22 at halftime, the Kewpies (16-7) surged to claim a 16-point advantage after the third quarter. Claire Ortbals led Hickman with 16 points. Jade Holly had 11, and Andrea Drake and Kimberly Lake scored 10 apiece.
Aqua Corpening, who is normally the Kewpies' leading scorer, had six points, but produced 10 assists.
"She does all those other things so well, too," Hickman coach Tonya Mirts said, "and tonight, she was the distributor."
Hickman is set to play a makeup game at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Holt.
