COLUMBIA — The Columbia College men's basketball team beat Hannibal-LaGrange, 59-47 on Tuesday in Hannibal to stay in the race for first place in the American Midwest Conference.
The Cougars are now 21-4 (8-2 in the AMC) and are currently a half-game behind Park University and McKendree University.
The Cougars were up 10 points early in the game, but Hannibal led at the half, 29-27.
Columbia College only allowed 20 second-half points and forced a key shot-clock violation with a minute left, preventing Hannibal's comeback.
Junior guard Taylor Evans and sophomore forward Jordan Dressler both had 10 points to lead the Cougars.
Columbia College will host Missouri Baptist University at 7:30 p.m. Thursday in the Arena at Southwell Complex.
