COLUMBIA — Columbia City Council candidates will gather at a forum Wednesday night to discuss issues of crime and public safety.
Keep Columbia Safe is hosting the event at the Boone Electric Cooperative, 1413 Rangeline St. The event starts at 6:30 p.m.
Tom Bradley, a radio talk show host for Eagle 93.9, will moderate the forum.
All six candidates plan to attend, said Karen Taylor of Keep Columbia Safe.
There are four candidates for the First Ward: Darrell Foster, Pam Forbes, Mitch Richards and Fred Schmidt; and two candidates for the Fifth Ward: Helen Anthony and Glen Ehrhardt. The election is April 5.
Keep Columbia Safe was formed in 2009 by a group of citizens concerned about crime, safety and effective law enforcement practices. It was the leading group behind Proposition 1, which installed security cameras downtown.
