COLUMBIA — For the sixth consecutive season, the Rock Bridge girls basketball team has achieved 20 wins in a season.
The Bruins (20-5) won 48-37 on Thursday at Helias Catholic. Lindsey Cunningham led the Bruins in scoring with 19 points, and Hannah Dressler added 13 points. Arielle Chambers scored 14 points to lead Helias.
The game was tied at 18 at halftime before the Bruins outscored Helias 30-19 in the second half. It was the second straight game for the Bruins to use a strong second half to pull away from the opposition.
The Bruins will begin district tournament play Wednesday against the winner of a game between Smith-Cotton and Washington. The Bruins locked up the No. 1 seed in that tournament last week and will be looking for their fourth straight district championship.
