The Missouri volleyball team has hired Lindsey Hunter as an assistant coach Tuesday.

The former Tiger All-American and U.S. National Team member will replace Chris Muscat, who resigned earlier this year to become the head volleyball coach at Loyola University Chicago.

Hunter is the Missouri's all-time career assists leader, and in 2005 she became Missouri's first volleyball player to receive first-team American Volleyball Coaches Association All-America honors.

Hunter's impressive collegiate career earned her a spot in the Mizzou Athletics Hall of Fame. She was named Mizzou Women's Athlete of the Decade earlier this year.

Hunter spent three years with the national team and won a bronze medal at the 2007 Pan-American Games, becoming the first Tiger to win a major international volleyball medal.
