New parking garage to open March 1

COLUMBIA — A new parking garage at Fifth and Walnut streets will open to the public on Tuesday according to an official statement. 

The new garage has 703 parking spaces — 120 hourly, 440 covered permit, 82 uncovered permit, 13 disabled and 48 below grade for the Columbia Police Department, according to a city news release.

Permits can be purchased on the third floor of City Hall Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. For more information on parking permits, contact the Public Works Department at (573)-874-7250.
