COLUMBIA — The preliminary hearing for a man charged in the shooting death of a 67-year-old Columbia woman has been postponed to March 23.

Ryan C. Bridger was charged with second-degree murder three days after the shooting of Aletha M. Turner on Dec. 20. According to a previous Missourian article, Bridger also had two pending charges of second-degree burglary and traffic violations. Both hearings will be held on March 23 at the prosecutor's request.

Turner was found unconscious in her home and died at University Hospital on Dec. 22. She had been shot once in the head.

According to the article, Bridger was connected to Turner through her niece, with whom he was in a relationship at the time of the shooting.
