LETTER: Miller might have been wrong about Watkins

Thursday, February 24, 2011 | 5:36 p.m. CST

In his predictable screed against the Citizens Police Review Board in your Feb. 24 print edition, J. Karl Miller reiterates a "previous opinion, one in which I was joined by City Manager Bill Watkins — the review board is an unnecessary and potentially damaging entity."

How then does the rigidly military-minded Miller square that with an item on page 8A Thursday of the same issue in which Watkins agrees with the "Review Board's minority opinion on the Derek Billups complaint?" Could it be that Mr. Watkins, unlike Miller, is actually open-minded on the value of the Citizens Police Review Board?
