Missouri softball handles Western Michigan to finish tournament
Sunday, February 27, 2011 | 7:00 p.m. CST
Nicole Hudson helped out the No. 15 Missouri softball team in more ways than one Sunday.
Hudson hit a 2-run double in the first inning to give the Tigers an early cushion against Western Michigan. She also pitched three innings, allowing only one run, as Missouri eased to a 6-1 victory in the USF Tournament in Tampa, Fla.
The Tigers (5-3) finished the tournament with four wins and one loss.
Missouri's Mackenzie Sykes' got first collegiate hit, a solo home run in the fourth inning, and Rhea Taylor went 1-for-2 to extend her hitting steak to 11 games.
