COLUMBIA — The Columbia Board of Realtors plans video interviews of City Council candidates this week that will be shared with the public.

The 45-minute interviews are expected to be posted without edits on the board’s website sometime next week, G. Michael Brown, CEO of Columbia Board of Realtors, said.

Members of the board and its affiliates generated the interview questions.

The board does not plan to endorse any specific candidate at this time, Brown said on Wednesday.

“We are doing this because we want to have an honest and open conversation that reflects on the interest of property owners,” Brown said.  “By making it digital we are hoping to give a wide range of access to the public where they had not previously known where to get it from.”

There are four city council candidates for the First Ward: Pam Forbes, Darrell Foster, Fred Schmidt and Mitch Richards; and two candidates for the Fifth Ward: Glen Ehrhardt and Helen Anthony.  The election is April 5.

The Columbia Board of Realtors is an organization of real estate agents in Boone County.
