Columbia College softball perfect against Westminster

The Columbia College softball team shut out the Westminster Blue Jays 8-0 on Thursday in Fulton. The Cougars, ranked No. 21 in the NAIA, are now 4-1 this season.

Columbia College senior Valerie Teter (3-1) shut down 21 Blue Jay batters to throw a perfect game. The pitcher finished with 17 strike outs. 

Teter also helped the Cougars on offense with two home runs and three RBIs. Catcher Tori Gehlert went three-for-four with a home run, three RBIs and two runs scored. 

Columbia College takes the field next against Harris-Stowe State University for a doubleheader at 2:00 p.m. on Monday in St. Louis.
