Columbia College men's basketball team falls in AMC semifinals

COLUMBIA — The Columbia College men’s basketball team lost 60-56 to Park University on Saturday in the semifinals of the American Midwest Conference tournament at the Arena of Southwell Complex.
The Cougars hit four 3-pointers on the way to a 35-25 halftime advantage, but the Pirates rallied in the second half and took the lead with about three and a half minutes to play.
Henrique Medeiros led Columbia College (26-5) with 22 points, while Greg Stegeman had 12 points, four blocks and eight rebounds. The Cougars, who are ranked No. 16 in the latest NAIA poll, will find out their next step in postseason play when the teams chosen to play in the NAIA national championship tournament are announced at 7 p.m. Wednesday.
