COLUMBIA — Afternoon activity buses will be canceled for Columbia's middle and elementary schools because of the weather.
These buses are not the normal after school buses that take students home. The afternoon activity buses usually run about an hour after dismissal and take students home after tutoring, club meetings or intramural sports. These activities have been canceled for the day.
"Students will still get home," said Michelle Baumstark, coordinator of Columbia Public Schools community relations. "Because the temperature is expected to drop, it's just a safer decision not to run the buses."
The regular school day buses are running as usual and have not been affected by the snow.
