JEFFERSON CITY — Missouri's Appellate Judicial Commission is accepting applications for a seat in the state Court of Appeals' Eastern District.
The vacancy on the St. Louis-based court results from Judge Nannette Baker's resignation. Baker left the state court to accept an appointment as a federal magistrate judge.
Applications from interested lawyers and judges will be accepted through April 29, as will nominations from Missouri citizens. Judges on the Court of Appeals must be at least 30 years old, licensed to practice law in Missouri and — in this case — live in the Eastern District.
A special nominating commission will conduct public interviews with applicants in May and recommend three finalists to the governor, who will make the appointment.
