COLUMBIA — The Columbia Police Department responded to an armed burglary Thursday morning at Flow’s Pharmacy, 1506 E. Broadway.

Around 8:15 a.m., “the suspect came into the store with the guise of needing pain medication,” Columbia Police Department spokeswoman Jill Wieneke said. “He then approached the clerk behind the counter with a handgun."

The clerk, still unidentified, complied, and the suspect then ran from the area, Wieneke said. No one was injured, and police were unable to locate the suspect.

A police report described the suspect as a white male, between 5 feet 6 inches and 5 feet 8 inches tall, 150 to 160 pounds and with brown to dark hair. He was wearing a black ball cap, black sweatshirt and pants and dark aviator type sunglasses, according to the report.
