KANSAS CITY — Police stopped more than 800 vehicles during a St. Patrick's Day sobriety checkpoint.

Forty-one people were arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol during the checks Thursday night outside Westport, a Kansas City entertainment district, police said.

Six people were cited for driving with a suspended or revoked license, and three received citations for hazardous moving violations.

The Kansas City Star reported that the checkpoint was conducted by the Kansas City Police Department, the Missouri State Highway Patrol and the Jackson County Sheriff's Office.
