COLUMBIA — An Ashland man was arrested in connection with a 2009 sexual assault case after the Boone County Sheriff's Department received an anonymous tip Thursday night, Detective Tom O'Sullivan said.
David Lee Harris, 21, was arrested at 9:48 p.m. at 4001 S. Ponderosa St. in Columbia's Blue Acres Mobile Home Park after a CrimeStoppers tip came in just before the arrest, O'Sullivan said.
The arrest was made in connection with a sexual assault involving a female acquaintance that took place at a party in December 2009 at 4500 W. Bellview Drive, O'Sullivan said.
Evidence was collected after the assault and sent to the Missouri State Highway Patrol crime lab, O'Sullivan said. An arrest warrant was issued for Harris in January 2011.
O'Sullivan said Harris' address was listed in Ashland, and the department suspected he had been staying with a friend at the park in Columbia.
Harris is being held in the Boone County Jail on a $100,000 bond, O'Sullivan said.
