Strong defense, penalty kick lift Rock Bridge girls' soccer

The Rock Bridge girls' soccer team beat Sedalia Smith-Cotton 1-0 on Wednesday in the Lee's Summit Tournament.

The Bruins (2-0) scored in the 14th minute on a penalty kick by junior Carmen Boessen. Senior Carrie Levy had six saves.

Rock Bridge will finish the tournament against Lee's Summit at 7 p.m. Thursday.
