JEFFERSON CITY — A Jefferson City man is charged in the death of a man who was shot after a confrontation over a woman.

Twenty-eight-year-old Terrell Edwards was charged Thursday with unlawful use of a weapon in the death of 24-year-old Cortez Bellamy.

Police said Edwards was arrested Wednesday in Kansas City. Edwards and Bellamy were part of a confrontation March 12 involving several people after a fight with a female at Rumors Nightclub, according to a probable cause statement.

After the fight, Edwards and his friends shot at the car Bellamy was riding in, striking him in the head, police said. The Jefferson City News-Tribune reports that Bellamy and his friends weren't armed.

A police spokesman said more charges are possible against Edwards and his friends.
