LETTER: Mitch Richards is right choice for Columbia's First Ward

Monday, March 28, 2011 | 8:13 p.m. CDT

In the First Ward, we should elect Mitch Richards, not only for his keen mind and youthful vigor, but also because he has the political philosophy needed for our times. We don't need any more local politicians who are madly in love with government and can never get enough of it.

Richards is the man we can most count on to not raise city taxes. He also opposes waste such as the mania for more garage buildings. Richardson is the pro-liberty candidate who wants no further government intrusion into our lives.

In the "full-service city" of Columbia, we already have as much municipal government as any reasonable person should ever want. Elect Mitch Richards to the City Council.

W.E. Samuels lives in Columbia's First Ward.
