LETTER: Pam Forbes would represent First Ward well

Friday, April 1, 2011 | 2:29 p.m. CDT

COLUMBIA — Why do I always think of Cesar Chavez when I think of Pam Forbes running for City Council in the First Ward?

Because Pam, like Chavez (the organizer), has continually supported issues that effect the voiceless of the community. For Pam, running for the council is simply an extension of what she has always done for others. From one issue to the next, she quietly goes about doing what needs to be done to raise the standards of this mostly forgotten ward of the community.

For those who want "true representation," I feel you could do no better than vote for Pam, who has always worked for you.

Joan A. Sullivan is a resident of Columbia's Fifth Ward.
