COLUMBIA — A one-year contract extension has been approved for Missouri women's basketball head coach Robin Pingeton that will keep her on the Tigers' sideline through the 2016 season.
When Pingeton came to Missouri from Illinois State in April 2010, she signed a five-year deal that paid her a base salary of $300,000. Pingeton's guaranteed salary will remain the same, but under the new agreement her deferred compensation will increase by $25,000 beginning in 2012.
In her first season at Missouri, Pingeton led the Tigers to a 13-18 overall record and a 5-11 mark in Big 12 Conference play, the best for the team since 2006-07. Missouri played 10 games against ranked opponents, winning three – the most for the Tigers since the 2000-01 season.
On Feb. 16, Pingeton won her 350th game as a head coach in the Tigers' come-from-behind overtime win over Oklahoma State. She ended the 2010-11 season with a 351-175 career record.
