COLUMBIA — Missouri softball players Nicole Hudson and Chelsea Thomas have both earned Big 12 Conference weekly awards.
Hudson, a sophomore third baseman who hit the winning single in the 11th inning against Oklahoma on Sunday, was named Big 12 Player of the Week. She went 5-for-10 with two RBIs in a two-game sweep of Oklahoma over the weekend at University Field.
Thomas, a sophomore right-hander who pitched all 20 innings against Oklahoma, was named Big 12 Pitcher of the Week for the second week in a row. She struck out 17 batters in each game against the Sooners.
It was the first time since 2004 that Missouri swept the Big 12 weekly awards.
Missouri (35-5) continues the season with a doubleheader at St. Louis set to begin at 3 p.m. on Wednesday.
