Missouri softball's 10-game win streak ends in Nebraska

Missouri’s 10-game winning streak came to an end Friday with a 3-2 loss at Nebraska.

The No. 8 Tigers (37-6, 9-2) held a 2-0 lead over the No. 14 Huskers (32-8, 4-5) heading into the bottom of the fifth inning. Nebraska then tallied three runs off of one hit to take a 3-2 lead it would never relinquish.

WHEN: 4 p.m.

Redshirt sophomore Chelsea Thomas made her first appearance since throwing 11 innings in Missouri’s 1-0 win over Oklahoma at home last Sunday. Against Nebraska, Thomas threw a complete game with 10 strikeouts, five walks, one hit, and three runs. The loss was Thomas’ fourth of the season.

Senior outfielders Lisa Simmons and Rhea Taylor each had an RBI for the Tigers. Missouri and Nebraska will conclude their weekend series in Lincoln, Neb., on Saturday at 4 p.m.
