The Missouri baseball team won its first Big 12 Conference series of the season by beating Baylor 10-1 on Saturday in Waco, Texas.

The series-clinching win followed Friday's 6-3 loss and Thursday's 4-2 victory.

This is the first time the Tigers (16-23, 4-10) have scored at least 10 runs in Big 12 play this year. With the loss, Baylor fell to 21-20 overall and 7-11 in the Big 12.

Missouri junior Matt Stites (2-3) threw a career-high 123 pitches over 7 2/3 innings while allowing four hits, one earned run and four walks and striking out nine.

Senior designated hitter Jonah Schmidt went 5-for-5 and stole a base, while freshman third baseman C.J. Jarvis was 4-for-4 with an RBI and a stolen base.

Sophomore catcher Ben Turner led the Tigers with three RBIs.

Missouri's next game is against Eastern Illinois University at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday in O'Fallon, Mo.
