MO-X services to St. Louis airport back on schedule

COLUMBIA — MO-X shuttles were running on their normal schedule Sunday, two days after a tornado damaged Lambert-St. Louis International Airport and left one of the company’s vans balancing precariously atop a parking garage.

Shuttle services to St. Louis on Saturday were canceled because of the airport's closure, but shuttles to Kansas City ran uninterrupted throughout the weekend. Although MO-X was running on its regular schedule Sunday, some shuttles were being used twice a day to make up for the absence of the damaged van, said Tim Ward, a dispatcher for MO-X.

“Instead of a vehicle making one run a day, sometimes we’re doubling up on (airport) runs,” Ward said.

Although this will result in increased mileage on the shuttles, individual drivers will not be making extra trips, Ward said.
