Monday, May 9, 2011 | 12:01 a.m. CDT

You can learn a lot about your community, state and country. Open records help people keep government in check and help them better understand how government affects their lives.

For a complete list of Show Me the Records, go to

The records: MU Grade Distribution Website

Why you’d want them: Search for the individual grades assigned for all classes taught at MU. The database allows searches based on instructor name, course number, course title, course department and term. See the number of grades A through F as well as an average grade for the selected course.

Where you get the records: Go to The search criteria will appear in the box in the middle of the page. To adjust search settings, click the arrows to the right of the boxes.

How much it will cost: The information is free.
