Marching Mizzou Drum Line holds auditions

Sunday, May 1, 2011 | 3:15 p.m. CDT

COLUMBIA — Drums echoed on the Loeb Hall Lawn on Saturday. More than 30 drummers came to test their talents in attempts to earn a spot on the Marching Mizzou Drum Line.

Beginning at 8 a.m. Loeb Hall at MU was filled with returning drum line members and graduating high school seniors. Each carried sticks in hand as they waited for their turn to show their skills.

The day consisted of a three-part audition. First, there was an individual session in front of a panel of judges, followed by a sectional setting with others who play the same instrument. And to finish out the day, there was a full drum line rehearsal.
