COLUMBIA — The Columbia School Board has one more month to sort out its 2011-12 budget, which has to be approved by the end of June.

At its meeting Monday, May 9, the board will vote on budget amendments and review other changes to the budget.

Included in the review are reductions, most of which are full-time positions, and additions for 2011-12. Chief Financial Officer Linda Quinley will also explain revenue projections for 2010-11.

Superintendent Chris Belcher will present a five-year analysis for revenue and expenditures in light of decreasing state funds and the elimination of federal stimulus after 2011-12. He said in a finance committee meeting Wednesday that the district will soon have to find a revenue solution, one that will provide for its current and future needs.

Leaders of the Elementary Site Selection Committee will update the board on the advantages and disadvantages of three potential sites for a new elementary school that meet the standards of the committee's search.

Sally Beth Lyon, chief academic officer for the district, will also explain which programs will be offered for summer school, and go into detail about schedules, curriculum and enrollment.

The board will meet at 6:30 p.m. Monday at the district administration building, 1818 W. Worley St.
