COLUMBIA — Jake Alexander's bases-loaded single in the eighth-inning sent the Hickman baseball team to a 4-3 victory over Helias Catholic on Saturday at Hickman Field.

The Crusaders, who had been set to host the game before rain flooded their field, had tied the game with two runs in the top of the seventh.

Alexander, who also had a sixth-inning home run, went 2-for-4 with two RBI, and Colby Fitch was 2-for-3 for two RBIs for the Kewpies, who improved to 10-10 with the win.

Hickman starting pitcher John Jones struck out five, allowed seven hits and two earned runs in 6 2/3 innings of work.
