COLUMBIA — The Rock Bridge girls soccer team needed double overtime to beat Cor Jesu 2-1 on Monday in St. Louis.

Mary Bowman took possession of the ball at midfield and beat two defenders on the way to scoring the game-winner two minutes into the second sudden-death overtime period.

Bowman also scored the other Bruins goal off an assist from Carmen Boessen in the seventh minute of regulation. The Chargers scored about two minutes later to leave the game tied 1-1.

Goalkeeper Carrie Levy had nine saves for Rock Bridge, which improved to 13-6-1 with the victory.

Rock Bridge is set to play next against Lee's Summit West on Wednesday in Columbia.
