HUNTSVILLE — A 25-year-old Moberly woman is jailed on suspicion of wrapping her infant son in a duffel bag and dumping his body in a central Missouri pond.

The Columbia Daily Tribune reports that Cassidy Nicole Ann King has been charged with abandonment of a corpse. Court documents show King gave birth to the child at home several weeks ago.

King surrendered to Randolph County authorities on Monday, one day after the duffel bag was found on private property west of Higbee by a woman later identified as King's sister.

Investigators said they found a towel bearing King's name with the infant's body. County coroner Gerald Luntsford estimates the child was in the pond for three weeks.

King was held Tuesday on $20,000 cash bond. Court records did not list an attorney for her.
