Power restored after outage in west Columbia

COLUMBIA — A transformer failure near Columbia Mall left about 2,000 city electric customers without power early Monday morning.

Connie Kacprowicz of the city Water and Light Department said the outage began at 7:15 a.m. Monday and power was restored 20 minutes later.

The area affected was in the Stadium Boulevard corridor from Bernadette Drive south to College Park, Kacprowicz said.
